HESI A2 cumulative score
Add a row for every subject exam your program requires, then enter how many items each one had and how many you answered correctly. The cumulative score is the total correct divided by the total items.
Elsevier does not set a passing score. Programs commonly publish a cumulative requirement and some add a separate minimum for Math or Reading; see the HESI A2 passing score page.

Frequently asked questions
How is the TEAS 7 Total Score calculated?
Your Total Score is the percentage of scored items you answered correctly. The TEAS 7 has 170 items but only 150 are scored, so the denominator is 150 and not 170. The 20 unscored pretest items are not identified during the exam.
Can this calculator tell me my official score?
No. It estimates the percentage from a raw count you enter. ATI reports the official Total Score, section scores and proficiency level, and only that report counts for an application.
What Total Score do I need?
That depends entirely on your nursing program. ATI does not set a pass or fail line, so check the required score on the admission page of every program you apply to.
How is a HESI A2 cumulative score worked out?
It is the total number of correct answers across the subject exams your school requires, divided by the total number of items in those subject exams. Because programs pick different sections, two candidates can have very different cumulative scores from the same performance.
Does a wrong answer subtract points?
No. Neither exam penalises a wrong answer, so an unanswered item is worth exactly the same as a wrong one. Always answer.
Why does the calculator not show a scaled score?
Neither the TEAS 7 nor the HESI A2 is reported on a scaled score in the way pharmacy technician exams are. Both are reported as percentages, which is what this tool estimates.
